One of the wolves

Thanksgiving weekend my mate took my sister and I to Wolf Park. Website: [link]. I was supposed to go into the enclosure with the Main Pack as only members can do. (for our 6mo anniversary he adopted Tristan the pack alpha.) I was going to actually meet my sponsor! It was Cassies first time there and was amazed. I had to watch a long video about wolf behavior and the staff gave me tips on how to behave while among the wolves.
Im now so excited, its boundless. Finally after the tour around wolf park to see its other inhabitants (ie: herd of bison, coyotes, foxes, and more woves.) they called us in. I was supposed to be going in a group of 4 but some didn't show. I was the only one standing at the air lock. 4 wolves were standing there excitedly wanting to welcome me. As soon as I stepped in I was jumped by the Beta Wotan. The rest were happily sniffing around my person and trying to knock me over. It was so cold out I had to keep from shivering but I could just feel how soft their fur really was.
Wolves are much larger than dogs but its something you really can't see from behind a fence. Wotan especially, hes got to be 6ft from nose to tail! He was real friedly too. Ruedi I recognised as the one with blue- gray eyes, hes the omega and got picked on alot even for no reason. Wolfgang and Renki were milling about settling scores behind you in snarls. I wasn't the least bit scared suprisingly. Andy made jokes that I postured as the alpha female because she wasn't present. Wotan was standing there letting me pet him and he gave me kisses on the face.
The only one I hadn't seen was Tristan. The staff tell me he takes a while to warm up but its still rare for him to let you pet him. I treasure the moment he came up, stood parallel to me and invited a pet. I felt so lucky! Soon came the time to depart the enclosure and leave my friends for another day. I cannot express how wonderful it was. Or how thankful I am for this great gift from Andy.

It LIVES!

Okay, so im finally back now...internet was hooked up just today. So much stuff has happened since last I was able to be on here for an extended time. First and foremost I've moved out of the parents house. I now live in a cosy apartment with my lovely b/f of 6 months. Work has been..well nice; at least this week. slow as molasses I really haven't done much artwork but thats to be expected. I'll be starting school soon or at least applying for it. Next on the list is a car. For at least a month I've been bumming a ride off Andy. The cougar had power-steering troubles.
Its not all bad though: I've gone to (or attempted) 2 weddings, Paramount Kings Island, camping in Beaver Dam, bachelorette party, (which was my very fist introduction to clubs!) and plenty of trips downtown to visit friends. Honestly there hasn't really been a weekend we're not busy. And to think I used to have such a hum-drum life! I just want to hollar hEY! IMMMM BAAACK!!!!

As you can see I've been gone for some time now...work is killer. Currently I have very limited internet where Im staying so unfortunately no updates. Im apologize to those who have been trying to reach me and I'll get to you when I can. For now its official; I didn't fall off the face of the planet, work is just stealing my soul. Things should hopefully die down in a month or two and I can get back to really churning it out. (and possibly school) Sorry again to everyone.

A friggen miracle

Theres a huge concert coming to Columbus OH; ZZ Top, Evanescence, Chevelle, Hinder, Velvet Revolver, Puddle of Mudd, and others I can't think of right now. We tried to get tickets but they were totally sold out... Somehow my boyfriend's sister got 4 tickets and the show is this Saturday!!! I can't believe it! Its gonna be a blast. I seriously can't wait for the weekend.

EDIT: Okay so that didn't quite go as well as planned... The car broke down somewhere around Florence 2hrs out. It looked like oil but it was actually transmission fluid. ><' I kept Andy calm and we had it towed to Pep Boys. We then rented a car and got to the concert in time for Three Days Grace. The concert was INCREDIBLE!!! And whoa Amy Lee can sing! Papa Roach had to be the most fun, with me and him both headbanging and screaming. Best concert experience since Snobowl in PA. Everybody I saw yesterday put on a great show, though I missed Breaking Benjamin cause they were the opening act.

This was the lineup: Stage One- Breaking Ben, Black Buck Cherry, Three Days Grace, Hinder, Chevelle, Velvet Revolver, Evanescence, and ZZ Top. Stage Two- Operator, 2 Cents, Buckcherry, Puddle of Mudd, and Papa Roach. I don't have the sheet on me right now so I'm sure theres at least two bands I've forgotten. It was an amazing experience and one I'll NEVER forget!

Okay guys Im not dead just so you know. Art has taken a backseat to the rigors of life and I've hit an art block anyway. My sketchbook has been gathering dust since before the funeral. I miss my muse and time. Yes gods, time. It seems like I have no personal time at all between home and work. My job is getting into the busier seasons so I have to stay at least 10hrs or more *shoot me!* Weekends are highly cherished.. About trades, Wolf557 I know I still haven't given you your half; its still in the works. It will be done soon I promise. Sorry its taken so long. Well thats the sum of things and now I need to put my contacts in and head off to another dreary day of work.
